YUNG BERG PUTS ON FOR CHI-TOWN HERO, "[HE'S] BEEN KICKING A** ALL YEAR"

Sohh.com Reports: Chicago rapper Yung Berg has found himself getting caught up in the hype of the NBA Playoffs by releasing a new record honoring hometown Bulls superstar Derrick Rose.

Berg sees the "Derrick Rose" tribute track as his own version ofWiz Khalifa's Pittsburgh-themed "Black & Yellow."
"The response has been phenomenal... Hopefully I got my own little 'Black and Yellow' thing going on," says Yung Berg. "My goal is for it to be playing inside the Bulls playoff [games], like when Derrick Rose scores, or for ESPN to show it. I would love for it to get played like that." A music video for "Derrick Rose," which was shot in Chicago last week, will be released shortly. As for the song's namesake winning the MVP award, Berg says that Rose "has been kicking a** all year. He deserves it. I definitely see [the Bulls] going to the finals, and I feel like they can win." (Billboard)
This week, Rose was officially acknowledged for his skills by being named the NBA's Most Valuable Player.
Derrick Rose continued his family affair Wednesday night, bringing his mother and three brothers to center court with him to accept the NBA's most valuable player trophy from Commissioner David Stern. "This right here is for the city of Chicago," Rose told the cheering crowd. Rose's heartfelt acceptance speech from Tuesday still had people buzzing a day later. "It was an extraordinary event," Stern said. "In addition to being a great basketball player, he's a very nice and well-rounded young man. He's the full package. He has a family that watched out for him and made it through difficult times. He's very valuable, not just to the league but to his teammates and as a role model to all." (Chicago Tribune)
